Resetting your Ally ip100 to Factory Defaults
The following steps will walk you through the process of resetting your Ally ip100 security appliance back to the same settings as shipped from the factory.
Before starting this procedure, we would like to hear from you at our support center.
Contact Arxceo support by calling extension 109 at either of the following numbers: 866.427.9236 (toll free, US only) or 256.837.8338 and leave your name and contact information. Arxceo uses this method so that you do not have to wait on hold for the next available representative. That extension automatically notifies support personnel that a customer needs assistance. You will get a response within four business hours of leaving your message. If you desire immediate response during non-business hours, please indicate this in your voicemail message.
Getting Started:
For this reset to work, you will need two devices, powered up, with RJ-45 (ethernet 10BaseT or 100BaseT) ports and correct cables.
-
Connect the Internet/WAN interface on the Ally ip100 to some other device's ethernet port, using the proper cable as defined
here.
-
Connect the LAN interface on the Ally ip100 to some other device's ethernet port, using the proper cable.
-
Apply power to both devices and wait until they have completed their bootup sequence.
-
Apply power to the Ally ip100
-
Wait about 30 seconds
-
You should see a solid LED light has been lit at both ends of the Ally ip100. (If not, you likely have used the wrong type of cable on the un-lit end.)
-
The following 6 steps must be performed AND completed within three minutes:
-
Unplug the ethernet cable on the LAN side of the Ally ip100. Plug it back in and wait until you see the solid connection light has again lit up.
-
Unplug the ethernet cable on the Internet/WAN side of the Ally ip100. Plug it back in and wait until you see the solid connection light has again lit up
-
(You will repeat these two steps another two times for a total of six connect/reconnects) Unplug the ethernet cable on the LAN side of the Ally ip100. Plug it back in and wait until you see the solid connection light has again lit up.
-
Unplug the ethernet cable on the Internet/WAN side of the Ally ip100. Plug it back in and wait until you see the solid connection light has again lit up
-
Unplug the ethernet cable on the LAN side of the Ally ip100. Plug it back in and wait until you see the solid connection light has again lit up.
-
Unplug the ethernet cable on the Internet/WAN side of the Ally ip100. Plug it back in and wait until you see the solid connection light has again lit up
DO NOT POWER THE UNIT OFF DURING THIS PROCESS. Doing so will likely disable the unit and it will have to be returned to Arxceo for repair.
Upon completing step 13, the Ally ip100 will reboot. All the lights will go off, the unit will reflash itself and reboot -- possibly a few times. It is recommended to wait for approximately 4-5 minutes before continuing. You should again see a solid LED on each end, opposite sides from each other and possibly flickering LEDs denoting traffic is flowing.
Your Ally ip100 should now be reset to factory default configuration. NOTE: Your password has been reset to "arxceo", also.
